DREAMS Fact sheet
The USAID/Kenya and East Africa Afya Jijini program's technical approach to reducing new HIV infection rates among Adolescent Girls and Young Women (AGYW) through the DREAMS projects. DREAMS is a multi-faceted program addressing the HIV risk in AGYW. With support from PEPFAR, the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, Girl Effect, Johnson and Johnson, Gilead Sciences, and ViiV Healthcare, DREAMS is delivering a core package that combines evidence-based HIV prevention approaches that go beyond the health sector, addressing the structural drives that increase girls HIV risk, including poverty, gender inequality, sexual violence and a lack of education.
