COVID-19 Emergency Response Team

Lauren Brown, a member of the COVID-19 Global Emergency Response Team for Lutheran World Relief and IMA World Health, has more than 15 years of experience in humanitarian response settings, including three years during the 2014 West Africa Ebola outbreak. She brings technical expertise in tropical diseases, humanitarian response, health systems strengthening, disaster risk reduction, capacity building, cross-sector coordination, neglected tropical diseases, behavior change, disease surveillance and response, and community health. Brown comes to Lutheran World Relief and IMA World Health from RTI International, where she served as a technical advisor on neglected tropical diseases in Tanzania and Ethiopia. She previously worked on teams responding to an Ebola epidemic in Sierra Leone for The Mentor Initiative and International Medical Corps. She has technical expertise in tropical diseases, humanitarian response, health systems strengthening, disaster risk reduction, capacity building, cross-sector coordination, neglected tropical diseases, behavior change, disease surveillance and response, and community health.
