IMA World Health/Kara Eberle
e’re just weeks away from Local Goes Global, a collaborative effort between IMA World Health and McDaniel College to celebrate Carroll County artists, musicians, and small businesses, as well as help save lives in some of the most desperate areas of the world.
Blues, jazz and tango will meet in an extraordinary mix of international styles during the event from 7-9 p.m. March 6 at the Carroll Arts Center, 91 W. Main St., Westminster, MD 21157.
Artists Shelley Ensor (voice), Jon Seligman (percussion), and Christopher James (guitar and other strings) will start the evening with blues and gospel, while Alice Tung (accordion and viola) and Tim Jenkins (guitar) will then add tango.
The evening will end with all playing together in the best tradition of community musical collaborations.
Leading up to the event, we thought it would be nice to get to know some of the performers. Today, we’re meeting Christopher James, a 38-year-old father of three who lives in Westminster, Maryland.
