Looking for some good news?

Check out WashingtonPost.com today to read about the work being done to eliminate elephantiasis (also known as lymphatic filariasis or LF) in Haiti! IMA World Health is an implementing partner in the USAID-funded program.

The September 30 article, “Haiti takes on dreaded disease elephantiasis one mouth at a time,”highlights the disease’s major threat to public health and the truly heroic efforts of the organizations and individuals who have worked for many years to fight it.

IMA World Health has been working to fight LF and other Neglected Tropical Diseases in Haiti since 1998, and we are pleased this issue and our work is gaining the attention of the US media and public.

We hope you’ll join us in congratulating IMA’s Dr. Abdel Direny, our Haiti team, our partners and the Haitian and US governments on this successful program that is increasing the quality of life in Haiti.
