During our Summer Matching Gift campaign, your gift doubles – dollar for dollar, up to $35,000 – to reach children and families at risk of Ebola.
Your urgent support helps transform lives around the world, including the Democratic Republic of Congo where families are suffering amidst the worst Ebola outbreak in DR Congo’s history. Thanks to caring people like you, we are able to work alongside our strategic partner Lutheran World Relief to respond to the outbreak despite ongoing insecurity and adversity.
Because there’s always hope.
Hope that every child lives to see a healthy tomorrow, the way Benedicte did.
Her story began in the bleakest of circumstances. Her mother had contracted Ebola while pregnant. Days later, she died giving birth to Benedicte, who tested positive for the virus as well.
For seven weeks, newborn Benedicte fought for her life. She was rushed to the nearest treatment facility, where she was hospitalized for 45 days and received a full course of the still-experimental antiviral treatment.
Shortly thereafter, Benedicte was declared cured and discharged home to her family — healthy and symptom-free. Considered a “miracle baby,” she is believed to be the youngest victim of Ebola to successfully undergo treatment and recover from the highly fatal disease.
Now, Benedicte is more than 6 months old and has become a beacon of hope for all the health workers and emergency responders, including those supported by IMA and LWR, around the world. Don’t miss this opportunity to make a difference in one of the worst humanitarian crises in the world.
But don’t delay. We must hear from you before July 24 to match your gift!
Benedicte’s survival is the type of miracle that your support makes possible.
Gifts made to IMA World Health support our entire mission of health, healing and well-being. They will be directed to where they are most needed. Gifts are tax-deductible as allowed by U.S. law.
